Fires

A few days ago a fire started in Malibu and now there are fires sparking up like crazy all over Southern California.  Many of my close friends have been evactuated from their homes, and I can’t stop thinking about them and I’m hoping they won’t lose their homes.  I am watching the news as I type and they just said that they shut down the freeway right by my house which means that they think the fire is heading this way.  Three years ago we faced the same thing and the sky was completely black and ash was falling from the sky, it was a nightmare.  I am just praying that it won’t get that bad again and that the fires will stay far away from my home.

If anyone reading this has been affected from the fires, know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Because of this reason I will not be scheduling sessions this week unless conditions clear up.  I don’t want anyone to have to take their children out of the house unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Halloween is almost here

and Nicole and Christopher are ready!  You may remember these two brother and sister twins from a few weeks ago when we took their portraits at the vineyard.  Today we had another session to get halloween pictures.  They were dressed so cute in their costumes and ready to have lots of fun.  I’m even more in the Halloween spirit now, I just wish that it wasn’t too windy outside to go to the Pumpkin Patch.  But I am hoping to escape this horrible weather and go to Disney Land at the end of the week for Halloween Time.  If you’ve never been to Disney Land during Halloween you have to go, it’s awesome!

Enjoy the sneak peek!

Vargas Family

This weekend I had the pleasure of shooting family portraits for the Vargas family.  They are such a great family and very brave to go out with the Santa Ana winds in full effect.  Luckily in Claremont it was barely blowing at all.  As soon as I drove back to my house though the winds were crazy and blew a branch right in front of my car.  Then when I was at the grocery store someones car door slammed into mine leaving a huge dent on the side and once I got home my fence blew down and our dog almost ran away.   I hope everyone in the Rancho Cucamonga area is staying inside and hopefully this wind will pass soon.  My prayers are with everyone who has had to deal with all the fires, I hope that there will not be anymore lost homes and that no one else will be injured.

Enjoy this sneak peek of this adorable family! =)

Little Maribell had plans of her own, she just wanted to explore and said enough with the family pictures….

Mini Sessions at O2B Me in Rancho Cucamonga

Christmas is right around the corner and tis the season to have portraits taken.   Unfortunately I am pretty much all booked up until the beginning of January, however if you would like to schedule something I might be able to squeeze in a weekday session, so please email me if you’re interested.  Other than that, my calendar on the main website shows the only couple weekend dates that I have left.  Unless you’re in Salt Lake City, and then I will definitely make a spot for you while I’m there in December!

The good news is that I will be doing mini sessions at O2B Me in Rancho Cucamonga on November 10th (the time is yet to be decided so stay tuned).

The details are that there will be no sitting fee, you will have about 5-10 minutes of time for each child, and you will only pay for whatever prints you want.  Also the best part is that if you order over $50 of prints you will receive half off the session fee for a regular session any time next year.

O2B Me will also be having a Christmas Season Open House the day before with great sales on absolutely adorable Christmas outfits.  So stop by the day before and pick up something cute for the photo session.  Or you could just do it all in one stop, which is the great thing about doing a photo shoot in a boutique.

I hope to see you there!

And just to give you an idea…. I will be shooting on a white background such as this one and the one in the previous post.  (cake only included if you bring it)

Morgan is turning one!

I can’t believe how fast time goes, it seems like Morgan was just born a few months ago.  You may recognize this face, she’s the little baby on the Sweet Baby Photo main website in the teacup.  She was three months old in that picture and it doesn’t seem too long ago that I did that session.  She’s such a gorgeous little girl with big blue eyes and super cute curly hair.

Enjoy this sneak peek from Morgan’s first birthday session!

New things are coming

Stay tuned because there are going to be a lot of fun changes around the world of Sweet Baby Photo.

I also want to add that soon I will be opening a whole new website for senior and adult portrait photography.  It’s going to be awesome and I will probably open that sometime next year.  I am taking models right now so if anyone knows of any seniors that have rockin’ personalities please send them my way.

And for now I will leave you with the most recent picture of my baby boy.  This pictures shows exactly how I feel today, cozy and happy!

Fall is in the air

This weekend has actually felt like fall and for Southern California that’s a very rare thing. It’s been nice needing a jacket when I go outside and even better to really want to snuggle up with a warm blanket, drink apple cider and bake cookies for myself….. I mean my children =).

Anyway, today I headed out to Claremont for a session with these two little cuties. The thing I like most about Claremont is that you don’t feel like you’re in Southern California. There are so many trees and Ivy growing everywhere. It was so gorgeous with all the colored leaves on the trees and on the ground.

Well that’s all I will say for now because I want to go snuggle up, watch t.v. and eat the cookies I made for my kids. Enjoy the pics!

What’s better than one adorable 18 month old?

Two adorable 18 month olds!

Right when I saw these little ones I was blown away by how gorgeous they are.  I still can’t get over their cuteness.  We will be doing part two of their session next week because believe it or not, it’s getting cold in Southern California.  It was hot all day until we started shooting and then the wind picked up and the poor little babies started to get cold and I don’t think they liked the wind too much.  Next week we’ll be doing Halloween pictures and the plan is to find a pumpkin they can both fit inside.  Does anyone know where I can find something like that?  Not a real one though because that would be a lot of scooping!

Here are a few of my favorites from today.  I just love this first one even though they aren’t looking at the camera, you can just see how protective Christopher is of his little sister Nicole who was trailing behind.

Sweet Baby Photo is going to Salt Lake City

Don’t worry So Cal, it’s just temporarily!

Most people don’t know that I was born and raised in Salt Lake and I moved to Southern California about 5 years ago. I really like California but I love Salt Lake, especially when fall hits and you can feel autumn in the air. I love Utah even more in December because you just can’t beat a white Christmas. Even after 5 years I’m still not used to seeing palm trees and having 70 degree weather in December, and I don’t think I ever will be.

So the point of this is that I will be visiting Salt Lake mid December and will be doing sessions while I’m there. So if you are in or around Salt Lake City, Utah or if you have friends out that way please refer them to me. You can contact me anytime at www.sweetbabyphoto.com or give me a call at 866.828.2871. I will only be accepting four sessions because I will want some time to enjoy my vacation with my own family. It doesn’t matter what type of session, I will gladly accept families, babies, children, maternity or newborns.

I’m so excited for pictures in the snow!

Here is my favorite shot from last year in Utah:
