With Christmas quickly approaching it’s time to start thinking about Christmas cards, and of course, Christmas pictures. Last year I did mini sessions for just children’s portraits, and it went well but I feel like I need more time to devote to getting great pictures of children and babies, ten minutes just isn’t long enough. Family pictures are different and usually only take about 15 minutes to get a great family picture. So this year I am going to set one date specially for family portrait sessions. There are only ten spots available and this is a very special offer that will not come again for a very long time. Morning sessions will be catered with Scones and Orange Juice from the Tea House Restaurant in San Juan Capistrano. Afternoon and Evening sessions will be catered by Sprinkles Cupcakes.

The Details:

* 15 minutes of time shooting + 5 minutes of time to select your picture out of the ones that I took = 20 minute session
* 25 Boxed Christmas Cards with your family picture (additional cards will be $50/25)
* 1 - 11×14 portrait, 2 - 5×7 portraits, 4 - 4×6 prints

When and Where:

*Saturday November 2nd - My studio in San Juan Capistrano (9:00, 9:45, 10:30, 11:15, 12:00, 1:30, 4:30, 5:15, 6:00, 6:45)

Cost:

$400 per family

I’m SO sorry I’ve been missing in action lately but I have been working WAY too hard.  I’m still working on the new website which hopefully will be coming in April.  We’re getting close, I promise.  I’ve also been working on some special shoots.  And Cindy if you’re reading this you’ll be happy to see that I finally got these shots without being chased away by police.  Loooong story for those who don’t know what I’m talking about, but involves the beautiful mustard flower field and a mean man who chased away a couple of mom’s with babies and cameras, like we were really going to start some trouble.  Anyway, I found another field that wasn’t surrounded by “No Trespassing” signs.

I feel like I’ve really neglected the blog lately so I’m going to try to start posting more often, even if it’s just random stuff.  So here are a couple of sneak peek shots from our fun little shoot the other day.  This first one is one of my new favorite pictures!

I’ll be honest, I really don’t like to blog.  I can never think of what to write even though when I log on I know exactly what I want to say, I always go blank once I begin to type.  Anyway, I do have a couple important things I have to write on the blog.

First, I just want to let you all know that this is probably the last week to be able to get Eater pictures in.  Easter is coming up so fast I just can’t beleive it.  I did a session today for Rylee, one of my favorite little girls and I will post those probably tomorrow but I just want to say that I love shooting in flower fields.  Unfortunately these mustard flowers dry up quickly and will probably be gone by the time Easter rolls around.  It’s a bummer they don’t last all year.

Second, I will be out of town the week after next.  I’ll be heading to Vegas for WPPI (a photographers convention) for the second year.  I’m really excited for Vegas this year not only because I’m going to get to learn a bunch of new things  but also because this is the first time in the last three times I’ve been there that I will not be pregnant.  So I will actually get to have a good time.  On the top of my list is playing lots of poker and riding the New York, New York roller coaster (is that nerdy?) =).  Next on my list is attending the Trade show which is the best way for me to find fun new vendors to help make my job better and easier.  I cannot wait!  =)

Oooh, and I almost forgot.  I will be launching a new website (hopefully) before the end of the month!!   I can’t wait for my new look, you will all love it I’m sure!  And I will be having new prices (for the better for you) and new contests, and of course a special to celebrate the launch of the new site.

Sorry I’ve been MIA for so long lately.  Because of the rain two session have been rescheduled so I’ve had nothing to blog.  The email is finally up again after a long time without it.  But now I know it’s working again because I woke up with over 100 messages of junk mail, which I really missed while the email was down.  Unfortunately nothing could be recovered that was sent during the crash.  So please email me again if you haven’t gotten a response.

The prices for 2008 have changed again, but this time for the better for you.  I put back the a la carte prices because it just wasn’t fair to not offer those anymore.  I also rerarranged the package again.  This time the prices will stick for the remainder of the year.

Also look for a whole new look for Sweet Baby Photo.  I know that I change things around a lot but I think that’s one of the things that makes for a good artist.  I’m always wanting to improve and reinvent myself and my business.  I put my heart into this business and if I need a change, so does Sweet Baby Photo.  So coming soon our main site at www.sweetbabyphoto.com  will be completely turned around with a new look, new colors and new images (some old ones will still stay because I love them).  This blog will also change to match the colors of the website.  Unfortunately it’s not an overnight process so it will take a couple months of working so stay tuned for more details and sneak peeks.

We will be having some really fun sessions coming up in the next couple weeks so be sure to come back soon and check out the adorable sweet babies!   But for now here’s another of my little man.

This year Sweet Baby Photo will be going through many changes.  Unfortunately, we are also changing our prices.  I know it’s not one of the fun changes but it’s something that has to be done.  The good news is that I will be running a special to balance out the price change, so stay tuned for details on that.  You can see our new prices by clicking here.  The new prices are already in effect and started on the first of January.  If you have a session already booked for January and February you will not be charged a higher session fee, although the package prices will be as shown in the 2008 price list.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime.  The biggest change is that there will be no more a la carte pricing, prints and products will now be sold in the packages shown on the new price list.  Also, I will no longer be doing online proofing.  Proofing will now be done in person unless you live too far away for me to do a personal proofing session.

That’s what I’m going to be this Saturday at O2B Me Children’s Boutique in Rancho Cucamonga from 12-3. No I will not be dressed as an elf but I will be taking pictures of your little ones with Santa Claus. This will be my absolute last photo shoot for the year so don’t miss the chance to get some great Christmas pictures! The best part is you will receive a free 4×6 which you will be able to pick up from the store the following Saturday…. and while you’re there you can get some great Christmas gifts and Christmas outfits for your kids. This month has gone so fast, I can’t believe Thanksgiving is tomorrow!  Many people know that I will be taking most of December off to spend with my family.  We will also be going to Utah for a family vacation between the 14th through the 21st.  Due to this reason I will need all print orders to be in before the 6th of December if you’d like to get your prints before Christmas.  If any print orders are made after this time I cannot gaurantee that you will receive them before Christmas.

The day is almost here! This Saturday I will be at O2B Me in Rancho Cucamonga from 12-3:00 doing mini sessions for holiday portraits. The best thing is that there will be no session fee. All you pay for is the prints that you want to buy. And if you purchase over $50 worth of pictures you will receive 50% off a regular session fee to use next year anytime before May.

A few days ago a fire started in Malibu and now there are fires sparking up like crazy all over Southern California.  Many of my close friends have been evactuated from their homes, and I can’t stop thinking about them and I’m hoping they won’t lose their homes.  I am watching the news as I type and they just said that they shut down the freeway right by my house which means that they think the fire is heading this way.  Three years ago we faced the same thing and the sky was completely black and ash was falling from the sky, it was a nightmare.  I am just praying that it won’t get that bad again and that the fires will stay far away from my home.

If anyone reading this has been affected from the fires, know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Because of this reason I will not be scheduling sessions this week unless conditions clear up.  I don’t want anyone to have to take their children out of the house unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Christmas is right around the corner and tis the season to have portraits taken.   Unfortunately I am pretty much all booked up until the beginning of January, however if you would like to schedule something I might be able to squeeze in a weekday session, so please email me if you’re interested.  Other than that, my calendar on the main website shows the only couple weekend dates that I have left.  Unless you’re in Salt Lake City, and then I will definitely make a spot for you while I’m there in December!

The good news is that I will be doing mini sessions at O2B Me in Rancho Cucamonga on November 10th (the time is yet to be decided so stay tuned).

The details are that there will be no sitting fee, you will have about 5-10 minutes of time for each child, and you will only pay for whatever prints you want.  Also the best part is that if you order over $50 of prints you will receive half off the session fee for a regular session any time next year.

O2B Me will also be having a Christmas Season Open House the day before with great sales on absolutely adorable Christmas outfits.  So stop by the day before and pick up something cute for the photo session.  Or you could just do it all in one stop, which is the great thing about doing a photo shoot in a boutique.

Most people don’t know that I was born and raised in Salt Lake and I moved to Southern California about 5 years ago. I really like California but I love Salt Lake, especially when fall hits and you can feel autumn in the air. I love Utah even more in December because you just can’t beat a white Christmas. Even after 5 years I’m still not used to seeing palm trees and having 70 degree weather in December, and I don’t think I ever will be.

So the point of this is that I will be visiting Salt Lake mid December and will be doing sessions while I’m there. I will only be accepting four sessions because I will want some time to enjoy my vacation with my own family. O2B Me is a really cute boutique in Rancho Cucamonga with very hip styles for your babies and toddlers. New management just took over the store and they redid the whole interior, it looks so awesome! This Saturday, September 22nd at 10:00 AM they are having a grand re-opening party. I will be there doing mini sessions from about 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The mini session will be no charge, you’ll just purchase any prints that you’d like afterward (print prices are listed under the details section on www.sweetbabyphoto.com). I will spend about 10 minutes per child and do just a couple poses. I will be happy to spend more time with you if there is no one else waiting for their pictures to be taken. This is a great time to get some quick portraits of your children for the Fall and Christmas season, so come dressed up if you’d like or buy something cute to wear at the store.

It occured to me yesterday that some people may not realize that I’m nine months pregnant.  Funny thing was that I thought everyone knew but when I showed up at my session yesterday Leia’s mom was surprised at the big bellied woman that showed up at her door.  It actually is getting challenging to shoot now that my belly is so big but I still manage to get around.

I promise I’m making a point with all this rambling.  And that point is that May is my last month that I’ll be working for a while because my son is due on June 5th.  If you haven’t seen the new and improved website, please check it out at www.sweetbabyphoto.com.  We now have a calendar section that will show you that pretty much all of May is unavailable, there are only two dates left that I will be booking.  If you are interested in a session please contact me as soon as possible because these dates will fill up quickly.
